During 2015, Healthwatch Derbyshire asked children and young people about their experiences of using CAMHS services. Since then, we have been following up on the recommendations we made and the actions that organisations pledged. We have learnt about the work that has gone on in Derbyshire since that time, to try and offer the best support for children and young people who have difficulties with their emotional or behavioural wellbeing. We are now going to repeat this engagement, two years later, to capture up to date information from children and young people about their experiences.
We are planning to carry out this engagement between May-July 2017, with Engagement Officers making plans to visit CAMHS clinics across Derbyshire to talk to young people. The three main areas that we want to find out more about are:
- Their experience before CAMHS
- Their experience of CAMHS services
- How they feel about their progress/outcomes
A report will be produced when the engagement work has been completed to give up to date feedback for people providing, choosing and buying mental health services for children and young people. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
