I visited my GP because my medication wasn’t helping anymore with pain management for a long term condition. Although I had to wait an hour after my appointment time to see my GP I can honestly say it was absolutely worth it.
My GP had a spinal physiotherapy specialist in with her who helped talk through my condition and suggested I try a different medication so I could basically get some normality back in my life.
I felt listened to and included in the decision about my medication pathway.
Thank you so much for making me feel human again

Response

Ripley Medical Centre responded:

Thank you very much for your positive comments, we rarely have this sort of feedback, it is very much appreciated. GP surgeries are now looking at different ways in which we see our patients, as proven with Chris Bourne being in attendance at your consultation with Dr Milner. We do have a resident MSK worker that comes into surgery twice a week. Our reception staff do encourage patients with back pain, joint pain etc to see the MSK worker. It is a slow process as patients still feel the GP is the best person to see, which at times is clearly not the case. I am so pleased that your consultation went well and I will pass your comments onto the team. Once again thank you for your comments”

A Physio suggested that I attend my GP. A very thorough examination produced more questions. I left with it with the GP to do more research, and I was to have blood tests. A few days later, the surgery called with the response, and a referral was required and a letter was written to follow this. Dedication beyond the appointment, the unseen work of our doctors and staff. I thank you.
