Pride Pharmacy

November 18, 2025
In November 2025, we visited Pride Pharmacy at Royal Derby Hospital to understand people’s experiences of using the service.
What we wanted to learn:
- How easy was it to find Pride Pharmacy
- If the people using the pharmacy think there are any services missing for them
- If there is anything the pharmacy could do to improve people’s experience
- How people are experiencing the pharmacy since it moved.
Key findings:
- Feedback about the pharmacy was mixed, but there were key themes that came from people’s responses.
- Some people told us that the wait for a prescription was very long
- Some people found the signage could be improved to make finding the pharmacy easier.
- Some people were positive about the pharmacy moving to a new space
- Some people aren’t sure of the prescription drop-off and pick-up process
What we suggested:
We made 35 recommendations to support ongoing improvements. These included:
- Increase signage across the hospital to help people find Pride Pharmacy
- Consider reviewing if prescriptions could be processed more quickly if there was another computer
- Consider how to increase the seating available in the waiting area and for those queuing
- Increase accessibility of the website and update the website to tell people where the pharmacy is now located
Thank you
Thank you to the team at Pride Pharmacy for welcoming us, and to everyone who shared their experience with us during the visit.
