NHS 111 now offering access to mental health support in Derbyshire

NHS 111 is now offering direct access to crisis mental health support services. This change is designed to make it easier for people to get the help they need when they need support with their mental health.

What does this mean for you?

If you, or someone you know, are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to cope, you can now call 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk/ to get mental health support.

The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so help is available whenever you need it. This is especially important for those moments when you’re not sure where to turn or need immediate assistance.

They’ll be able to listen to your concerns, offer advice, and connect you to local services that can help. It’s a simple way to get the right support, right when you need it and without having to remember different telephone numbers.

Why is this service important?

We know that mental health crises don’t happen on a schedule. They can occur at any time, and it’s crucial that help is available whenever it’s needed. Whether it’s in the middle of the night or during a busy workday, NHS 111 is now a reliable way for anyone in Derbyshire to access the support they need.

By making mental health support available through NHS 111, it means that everyone in our community has a clear way to get the help they need.

How Can You Access This Support?

  • Online: visit 111.nhs.uk/ and click ‘mental health help’
  • Phone: dial 111 from any phone and select option 2 for the mental health help option. You’ll then be connected to someone who can provide support
  • Available 24/7: The service is available all day, every day, so you never have to worry about when to call.

What if you need more help?

If the situation is more severe, the NHS 111 team can arrange for a referral to local crisis services. If needed you may be asked to call 999 or go to A&E or an urgent treatment centre.

Support for All Ages

This service is not just for adults, it’s available for young people too.
