Views on Flu and COVID Vaccinations
Report date:
July 22, 2024
Between March and June 2024, we spoke to 717 people in Amber Valley about the flu and COVID vaccinations. The areas we focused on were Somercotes, Marlpool and Langley Mill, as these areas have a low uptake of the vaccines compared with the rest of Derbyshire.
Working with the Integrated Care Board and Public Health teams at Derbyshire County Council, we aimed to use this information to help with the 2024 winter flu and COVID vaccination campaign.
What did we learn?
- We found that most people think positively about getting vaccinated
- More people had concerns about the COVID vaccine than the flu vaccine, and they thought the flu vaccine was more important
- Even though many people got vaccinated and planned to do so again, some were unsure or didn’t want to get vaccinated
- The survey showed that making it easier to get the vaccine and giving clear information on safety and side effects could help
Thank you
We'd like to say 'thank you' to Amber Valley CVS who helped us to gather local peoples feedback on the vaccines.
